My name is Saundra Symons, I am in my 50's and happily married to a wonderful man and between us we have five amazing daughters. We live at Hervey Bay, Queensland close to our daughters and we are surrounded by an amazing group of friends. We have a purpose built yoga studio on our property taking in the peace and tranquility of our surroundings.
The Dru Journey
I began my Dru Yoga journey in 2005 after suffering some years with pain in my lower spine. My chiropractor suggested Yoga as therapy to assist in controlling my back issues. After a discussion with a girlfriend over coffee she suggested Dru Yoga as not only was it good yoga practice but also a gentle form of Yoga suited to people with movement issues.
Soon after I began to attend classes and after a short time I found the Dru Yoga to be very helpful, not only in the physical level, but on a spiritual level as well. After a short period of time I became so enthralled in Dru Yoga that I expressed a desire to become a teacher so began my teacher training course with Dru Australia.
The course began in 2006 and I graduated at the end of 2010 as a fully trained and accredited Dru Yoga teacher. Shortly after that I was invited by Dru Australia to enroll in the Master Dru Yoga Teacher training to begin in 2011. I completed this course in 2012 to emerge as a Master Dru Yoga Teacher. It was during this time that I also completed a Teacher Training course in Dru Dance which is an extension of Dru Yoga to Music and flows into a beneficial dance routine.
At this time I was living at Kuranda in the Cairns Hinterland and conducted classes in many locations through out the Cairns district.
Late 2013 we moved for family reasons to the Hervey Bay region where I am currently teaching classes in my own studio situated on our property at Dundowran Beach.
In 2014 I undertook a new training course to specialise in teaching Dru Yoga to children. I am very excited about this and plan to introduce a special class for children, possibly even coordinating this with local schools some time in 2016.
I am currently in the middle of a new course of training as a Restorative Exercise Specialist which will be come a modality in its own right but add great benefit to those with movement issues in the yoga classes.
I have also trained and practiced in Remedial Massage, Scenar Therapy (level 3), Ear Candling, Essential Oils and I am also an Angel Intuitive trained by Doreen Virtue. Please visit my web site. Guided Path Therapies for more information.
What I Like
I have a great love of the water and all things marine. I lived for 4 years on a cruising catamaran sailing along the north Queensland coast and exploring the Great Barrier Reef. I love to walk the beach, photographing nature, snorkeling, collecting and being creative with sea shells. I am into moon cycles, plants and my garden. I have belly danced, played the Egyptian Tabla (drum) and someday would love to learn to play the guitar.
Like minded people who enjoy harmony, peace, laughter and good times are the best
Come join me in my passion, this may be the beginning of a wonderful journey for you too!
